About Us

About NorthCap Foundation: The first incubation centre was established in The NorthCap University in 2015. In 2025, NorthCap Incubation and Innovation Foundation (NIIF), a Section 8 company founded under The NorthCap University (NCU), Gurugram, stands as a cornerstone for entrepreneurial and innovation-driven development within the university ecosystem. Evolved from the earlier The NorthCap Incubation and Innovation Centre (NIIC), the Foundation has been restructured to align more strategically with national innovation and startup policies, expanding its mandate to foster creativity, experimentation, and business development across multiple disciplines. As a distinct legal entity, Foundation now plays an even more dynamic and structured role in supporting the university’s vision of empowering students and faculty members to transform innovative ideas into market-ready solutions and sustainable enterprises.

To increase the successful development of new businesses, job creation and employment in Tech, Non–Tech and Social sectors that are aligned with unique areas of opportunity.

• To foster an entrepreneurial ecosystem at NCU that promotes creativity, experimentation and interdisciplinary collaboration among students, faculty, alumni and industry partners through structured incubation, mentoring and funding support.
• To translate NCU’s research strengths into market-ready products, services and technologies by providing access to labs, prototyping facilities, expert networks, IPR facilitation and commercialization support for innovators.
• To build capacity in innovation and entrepreneurship via training, bootcamps, pre-incubation programmes and outreach programmes.
• To collaborate with government bodies, industry, investors and ecosystem enablers to scale NCU-born startups

Objectives of NorthCap Incubation and Innovation Foundation:

Objective 1: Build a vibrant startup ecosystem

To create and sustain a world-class innovation and startup ecosystem that provides end-to-end “idea to company” support for student, faculty, and alumni entrepreneurs through mentoring, infrastructure, seed funding, and networks

Objective 2: Promote research-led, socially relevant ventures

To translate NCU’s research and technical strengths into knowledge-based, technologically differentiated, and socially relevant ventures that address regional, national, and global challenges.

Objective 3: Enhance innovation and entrepreneurial capacity

To systematically build the innovation and entrepreneurship capacity of the NCU community through ideation drives, hackathons, startup schools, bootcamps, and structured training, thereby nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset and skills.

Objective 4: Strengthen partnerships and access to opportunities

To forge strong linkages with government schemes, industry, investors, and ecosystem enablers so that NIIF-supported startups can access grants, markets, advanced facilities, and expert support for scaling and sustainability.

Objective 5: Achieve financial self-sustainability through equity-based models

To develop a financially self-sustaining incubation model by taking minority equity stakes or revenue-sharing positions in incubated startups, thereby creating a recurring income stream.
