Pursuing a doctoral degree is a significant academic and professional undertaking, and the “best” field of study depends on your interests, career goals, and the areas where you excel. A Doctoral degree from NCU is seen as the most coveted for a student as it is recognized as the top Private University in North India. The candidate is expected to have the motivation and rigour to produce original research in the chosen thrust area of research and publish at least two research papers in peer-reviewed Scopus or Web of Science-indexed journals. The progress is evaluated every six months. At the end of the research work carried out, the scholar is required to successfully defend the Ph.D. thesis before the examiners, one of which will be from outside India.

Expectation
A Ph.D. student at the Centre for Language Learning is expected to exhibit the motivation and rigour needed to produce original research in their area of focus. During the course of the PhD Program, the scholar is expected to publish at least two research papers in peer-reviewed, non-paid journals indexed in Scopus, Web of Science or UGC Care I & II. Their research progress is evaluated every six months at the departmental level in the presence of Subject Experts. After conducting the research, the candidate must present his findings in the form of his Ph.D. thesis and defend his work before a panel of experts in the field.

A candidate seeking admission to the Ph.D. Program under CLL must possess an MA or M.Phil. degree with minimum 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA for admission in Humanities (English).
