The NorthCap University, undergraduate Bachelor of Application ( BCA) course in “Media and Information Technology” helps students understand both the IT (Information technology) and Media (Gaming and VFX) industry. It offers a comprehensive and immersive learning experience, thus preparing students for a successful career in their dynamic and creative industries. Students will dive into the world of programming languages, software development, and their applications which help build a career in the IT industry, and also introduce to a particular area of Media Industry where the student will understand the technical requirements in this industry. Minimum Eligibility Criteria

BCA – Media and Information Technology (IT)

10+2 (English medium) examination conducted by CBSE or an equivalent examination from a recognised board with an overall aggregate of 50% and must have studied in:
1) Science Stream – Medical or Non-Medical,
OR
2) Non-Science stream with one of the following subjects: Mathematics, Computer Science, Informatics Practice, Computer Applications, Multimedia & Web Technology, Data Management Application, Web Application, Accountancy or Statistics.

  • Caution Money: A sum of Rs 10,000/- to be charged from each student seeking admission to the University in the Academic Year 2025-26. The amount is interest free and will be refunded to the students at the time of withdrawal or at end of their programmes, whichever is earlier, after deduction of dues, if any.
  • Alumni Association Fee: A onetime Alumni Association fee of Rs. 1,000/- for all programmes is payable by all students.
  • Industry Employability Aptitude Test Fees: Industry Employability Aptitude Test fees of Rs. 1,500/- is payable.
  • Youth Red Cross Fund : Rs. 80/- is payable by all students

15% CBSE: 90%<= 94.99%

FAQs

To enrol in this course, you must have successfully completed 12th Standard (or equivalent qualification). Having mathematics or computer science as part of your 12th-grade curriculum is Mandatory.

This course includes industry-used programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, and Python.
This includes the basics of the VFX/ game production process, & pipeline and IT-related Tools.

Our Media & IT course will provide students with all the requisite skills, knowledge, and technical know-how to not only work in the IT industry but also start working with Gaming and Visual Effects Industries.

After completing this course, our students have many opportunities to work in IT companies and the media industry as technical assistants. As part of the placement process, our placement team sends the eligible students’ profiles to companies and arranges interviews
