Our faculties have formed a capable and creative team of developers, artists, PR practitioners and organizers. Our web development team is lead by Deepanshu Jain has done a great work with our website. Our group of content writers work under Chhavi Jain and show their magic with our reports and articles. Garima handles our social media with a team of socially very active people. The event organizers and the graphic designers work with Jatin to manage the resourceful and informative events we conduct regularly. We are very proud of our team for building our student chapter to what it is today.

A student chapter of the Enactus Society. It is an international non-profit organization that connect students, academics and business leaders through entrepreneurial-based projects that empower people to transform opportunities into real, sustainable progress for themselves and their community. At Enactus, The NorthCap University, Gurgaon, we aim to partake projects that can help communities around us in the best ways possible and try to pave the road for their progress.

Our society is full of capable people, some intelligently use the right colours and brushes to paint their canvas, while there are millions of others who have the colours, but are unable to find their canvas. Providing them with this canvas is what defines our nature of work.

Team submitted project ‘’EHSSAS’’ in KPMG Business Ethics Grant on 20th September 15. The project was based on segregation of dry and wet waste at source level. Dry waste is thereafter sent to recycling unit. For this, students visited weekends in different communities in Gurugram such as sector 56 and DLF Phase-4. Wet waste converted into manure either by simple composting method or Vermi-compositing method.

PROJECT KUMHAAR: This project has helped the depleting essence of pottery in India by giving the Kumhaars a chance to spin their wheel again and make their livelihood out of the lost Indian heritage.

PROJECT INAAYAT: It aims at building pencils out of newspapers. Using waste newspapers as the primary raw material, we present pencils that minimize the felling of trees for the purpose of wood. Not only does it contribute to the protection of environment, but also aims at employing the disabled people, hence providing them with their regular incomes.

Our work has been exceedingly appreciated and we have been given grants to fund our projects and to keep the social work fully able. Grants by KPMG and Bluedart have added feathers to our caps and have motivated us to keep giving in our best efforts to make this society a better place to live in for everyone.

IEEE Student Branch at The NorthCap University (NCU) has nearly 200 members. The NorthCap University student branch has the following active student chapters: IEEE Computer Society, IEEE Technology and Engineering Management Society, IEEE Power and Energy Society, IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group, IEEE Industry Applications Society, IEEE Robotics and Automation Society.

IEEE NCU student branch regularly organizes many events for the students including technical workshops, seminars and webinars as well as activities with a social impact. IEEE NCU has organized the first-ever Northern India Congress for IEEE CS, SYNERGY 2020. The event saw participation from all over India, there were over 300 delegates.

IEEE NCU is one of the most active student branches in the Delhi section and its volunteers are part of various sectional, national and even global IEEE initiatives. IEEE NCU has bagged multiple prestigious awards including the award for Best Student Branch Website in IEEE R-10 (Asia and Pacific) 2020, Darrel Chong Student Activity Award 2020, Student Branch Video Presentation Contest (Runners up) in AISYWLC 2020, multiple awards in IEEE Delhi Section Awards 2020, Outstanding student volunteer award in IEEE India Council Awards 2020, Runners up in Student Activities and WIE Coordination Contest in R-10 SYWLC 2020 and many more.

Indian Road Safety Campaign, a voluntary organization running under the umbrella of Transport Research and Injury Prevention Program, IIT Delhi, refers to improve the road safety rules and also make the stakeholders – who are the reason for road accident deaths, aware about safety rules.

IRSC started as a project under National Service Scheme, IIT Delhi and currently have grown to be a youth lead organization with help Transport Research and Injury Prevention Program operating in various national engineering colleges like IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, BITS Pilani, DTU, SRCC etc on our board. IRSC has also been associated with schools and various NGOs like Arrive Safe, Safe Road Foundation etc. There are various methodologies like awareness, internships, workshops and competitions through which IRSC has been able to sensitize and impact 5,00,000+ people and work presently in 35+ cities and 7+ states.

IRSC helps in developing Business-Model of the projects and helps in Indian Road Safety Campaign overall development and expansion, in formation of proposals and projects.

The Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE), was founded in 1981 at New Delhi by a group of eminent HVAC&R professionals. ISHRAE today has more than 12,000 HVAC&R professionals as members and additionally there are 7,500 Student-members. ISHRAE operates from 41 Chapters and sub Chapters spread all over India, with HQ in Delhi. It is led by a team of elected officers, who are members of the Society, working on a voluntary basis, and collectively called the Board of Governors. ISHRAE student chapters in more than 150 engineering colleges encourage students to opt for careers in the HVAC&R industry. Knowledge dissemination is done through seminars, quiz contests, plant and site visits. Initiatives of ISHRAE are focused on university students’ contests, in making them aware of subjects like, energy conservation and environmental concerns through drawing competitions, poster design, quiz and planting of trees.

Advancement of the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration engineering and related services.

ABOUT MOOTING

The faculty at the School of Law grooms the knowledge, skills and values of all the students to make them not only a competent legal professionals but also complete human beings. Apart from a team of competent and dedicated law teachers, a host of other legal professionals like judges, eminent lawyers, in-house general counsels, activists, bureaucrats and leaders of the bar and the bench, regularly groom our students on lawyering and critical legal thinking skills. Integration of the study of Law with Management subjects not only assists in developing our law students to excel as Lawyers but also as great Managers.
MOOT COURT COMMITTEE, NCU LAW SCHOOL

The Moot Court Committee at the NCU Law School, Gurgaon encompasses the spirit for mooting that NCU recognizes as its own. Apart from maintaining a strong internal mooting structure, the Committee has been entrusted with the responsibility of hosting annually, the NCU Law School National Moot Court Competition. To this extent, the Committee is proud to find itself entrusted with the organization of a very prestigious and well respected moot court competition on Environmental Laws.
The Committee also makes efforts to inculcate the fresher batch with the techniques of mooting and therefore conducts regular sessions on court manners and arranges for the Intra-Moot Competitions.
Given the extraordinary amounts of preparatory work involved in the organisation of the various events, the Committee is an ever bustling center of activity, and is without wonder, a coveted committee to be in.

ABOUT NCU LAW SCHOOL MOOT COURT COMPETITIONS

NCU Law School aspires to create lawyers who are comfortable and skilled in ‘dealing’ with the differing legal systems and cultures that make up our global community while remaining strong in one’s own national legal system. The NCU Law students are be trained to specialize in international trade practices, comparative law, conflict of laws, human rights law, environmental law, gender justice, space law, biomedical law, bio-ethics, international advocacy etc.
“It is one of the few occasions that the moot competition, conducted annually, is being held on a pressing issue of environment law every year for which it has been conferred with the title of “Indian Stetson”.
NCU Law School has successfully conducted VI Editions of its annual National Moot Court Competitions.

NATIONAL CLIENT CONSULTATION COMPETITION

The Competition is aimed at promoting greater knowledge and practical skills among student advocates in the preventive law and counselling functions of law practice.
It encourages students in developing interviewing, planning, and analytical skills in the lawyer-client relationship in the law office. Interviewing and advising are a significant part of most lawyers’ work. The Competition provides an opportunity for a valuable educational interchange between students, law teachers and legal practitioners. The Competition simulates a law office consultation in which two law students, acting as lawyers (attorneys/solicitors/legal practitioners), are presented with a client matter. The students conduct an interview with a person playing the role of the client.
Students are expected to elicit the relevant information from the client, explore with the client his or her preferred outcome, outline the nature of the problem, and present the client with a means (or range of alternatives, if appropriate) for resolving the problem. The interview with the client is then followed by a post-consultation period during which the students, in the absence of the client, analyse the interview and discuss the legal and other work to be undertaken. The interview and post consultation period last a total of 30 minutes. The students are evaluated by a panel of judges. The students are evaluated against specific criteria that emphasize the use of listening, questioning, planning, and analytical skills in a lawyer/client interview. Once the judges have completed their evaluation of the interview, the students are to be called back in and the judges will provide a brief critique of the team’s handling of the consultation and post-consultation periods.
NCU Law School has successfully conducted V Editions of National Client Consultation Competitions.

SAE Internationally, initially established as the Society of Automotive Engineers, is a U.S.-based, globally active professional association and standards organization for engineering professionals in various industries. Principal emphasis is placed on transport industries such as automotive, aerospace, and commercial vehicles. SAE International coordinates the development of technical standards. The organization says these are based on best practices as identified and described by SAE committees and task forces. Task forces are composed of engineering professionals from relevant fields. SAE International has more than 138,000 members globally. Membership is granted to individuals, not through companies. Aside from its standardization efforts, SAE International also devotes resources to projects and programs in STEM education, professional certification, and collegiate design competitions.

Who We Are

We design, fabricate, and compete with small formula-style racecars, All Terrain Vehicles, Go Karts against other colleges from around the India. The SAE, FKDC and ISNEE design certain set of rules to test our engineering skills and creativity. During the competition the vehicles are judged in four different categories: static inspection, engineering design, solo performance trials, and high-performance track endurance. We compete in various events at Buddha International Circuit Greater Noida, Domestic Circuit Coimbatore and many more.

“EFFI-CYCLE” derived from Efficient-Cycle promote the objective of providing opportunity to the students to conceive, design and fabricate a three-wheel configuration vehicle powered by human-electric hybrid power and capable of seating two passengers catering to the day to day mobility needs.

SUPRA

SUPRA SAEINDIA is a great event which gives a real platform to students to test their engineering skills and refine them by learning from their little mistakes.

GO KART

Go Kart Design Challenge is a contest formulated to enhance the approach of students practicing Engineering and Diploma courses. This event is fundamentally all about designing and fabricating a Go Kart at very low expenditure.

HVC (Hybrid Vehicle Championship)

Students of Department of Mechanical Engineering (Team Alacrity) recently registered in Formula Imperial- HVC (Hybrid Vehicle Championship) under the organization ISIE (Imperial Society for Innovative Engineers).

The organization recently organized a pre-virtual round from 26th-29th July which included a Skill Development Programme(SDP) as well as a rulebook test. The SDP included a brief introduction to both design and manufacturing of the hybrid vehicle.

Total number of teams that participated in the event was 50.The SDP included teachings related to the following topics: –

Procurement
Vehicle build
Testing
Final event management
Electrical and electronics
Hybrid powertrain
Safety considerations
A rulebook test was also conducted on the last day of the event. A total number of 7 team members were asked to undertake the test designed to test the rulebook understanding of the team members.
Team Alacrity ranked 1st in North Zone, in the pre virtual round and 8th rank PAN India.
The 4-day event was a great success and helped to bring out the true potential of our students.

ESVC 2018

Students of Department of Mechanical Engineering (Team Alacrity) recently participated in ESVC (Electric Solar Vehicle Championship) under the organization ISIE (Imperial Society for Innovative Engineers), from 27th March to 04th April.

The pre-virtual round which includes a brief introduction to both design and manufacturing of the electric solar vehicle proved the excellence of the team members, as team stood 1st in theoritical test conducted at the end of pre-virtual round. The final event took place in SHRI VISHNU WOMEN COLLEGE, BHIMAVARAM, ANDHRA PRADESH.

It included a series of tests to be performed under the guidance of trained officials. Total number of teams participated in the final event was 70 out of which 25 cleared their Technical Inspection ; Team Alacrity was one of them.
The event also involved submission of design and cost report to the officials to know the knowledge as well as efforts of the team. A total of 24 students from 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year also bagged the 1st position in ENDURANCE TEST and awarded by momentum and price money of INR 20000.

E-GKDC CHALLENGE 2018-19

Team Alacrity, group of young engineering lads, participated in an electric go kart design challenge (EGKDC). The challenge was organized by ISNEE on a national level and was held from 22nd Feb. to 27th Feb., 2019 at Buddh International Circuit (BIC) Greater Noida. Nearly 200 teams participated in the national challenge and only 60 of them were able to qualify for the final showdown after the in-house technical inspection.

The five-day event comprised of technical inspection (TI) of the vehicle, safety tests like brake tests. Team Alacrity successfully passed all the tests and was one of the few teams that could reach the final round. All the static inspections were monitored at Galgotia’s University, Greater Noida. The dynamic rounds like Skid Pad, Autocross, Acceleration and Endurance were conducted at BIC.

The team was also appreciated for its cost report and also got the highest score for the same among all the teams. Racing the self-designed and self-manufactured kart at the main track of BIC is in itself a great achievement by the team and is appreciated by all the officials.

SPACE is an endeavour of students and faculty (NCU) to enhance the technical fervour amongst the students and to introduce them to the world of astonishing structures, techniques and designs.

SPACE has been a very active society since past 5 years ever since it has been inaugurated. The founders and the members of the society have worked actively for the development of the society as well as the development of the practical view over the theoretical view of the students of our esteemed university. It’s the duty as well as keen dedication of the members and the faculty to clarify their concepts as well as ignite a new practical and innovative approach amongst the highly potential masterminds of our university. It gives the initiation to the young minds to enhance their knowledge by practically implementing the concepts of their engineering curriculum as well as giving them an insight on team building, team work and project execution, the skills very much required in today’s industry.

SPACE is a kaleidoscope of engineers from different streams like Structures, Geotech, Surveying, Transportation and Environmental Engineering.

A junior or a senior, we welcome all sorts of talents. Also for the welfare of the students all our team members are available with no time boundaries to attend any kind of problem or doubt they may face.

This is an initiative to engrave in students the love for technology and to incline their minds towards the practical based knowledge.

Registration Fee:

Students may contact faculty advisor or student president for the registration.
Registration fee: INR 700/- per student for one year membership.
Operating Procedure:

Appointment of Faculty Advisor by HOD (Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering).
Appointment of student core team by Faculty Advisor
Registration of members by student core team under the guidance of Faculty Advisor.
Scheduling and planning of activities by student core team under the guidance of Faculty Advisor.
Approval for execution of activities with no financial obligations from Faculty Advisor, HOD and Chairperson Professional Societies.
Approval for execution of activities with financial obligations from the Governing Body, applications through faculty Advisor, HOD, VC and Chairperson Professional Societies.
Advertising about the society and its activities by student core team.

The Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI] is a statutory body to promote and advance the engineering and technology, established in 1920 and incorporated by Royal Charter in 1935.

It is the largest multi-disciplinary professional body of engineers encompassing 15 (fifteen) engineering disciplines with a membership of more than 820 thousand and serving the nation for more than 9 decades.

The IEI has its headquarters located in Kolkata with national presence through more than hundred Centres and several Overseas Chapters, Foras and Organ.

IEI has been recognized as Scientific and Industrial Research Organization by the Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India and besides conducting its own research, provides Grant-in-Aid to UG/PG/ PhD students of Engineering Institutes & Universities.

The Institution of Engineers (India) is a first professional body to represent India in several International Bodies, such as the World Mining Congress (WMC), the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO), the Commonwealth Engineers’ Council (CEC), the Federation International du Beton (fib), and the Federation of Engineering Institutions of South and Central Asia (FEISCA).

IEI holds the International Professional Engineers (IntPE) Register for India under the global International Professional Engineers Alliance (IntPEA). The Institution also wards the Professional Engineers (PE) Certification.

IEI, in collaboration with Springer, regularly publishes peer-reviewed international journal in five series, covering fifteen engineering disciplines.

Objectives of ‘IEI’:

To promote the general advancement of engineering and their application
Grant certificate of competency for practice of Engineering Profession
Arrange and promote for settlement of disputes in Engineering by arbitration and act as or nominate arbitrators
Confer to the Government and other bodies the views regarding matters directly or indirectly affecting the Engineering profession
Promote study of Engineering through R & D activities and grants
Encourage elevate and recognise the technical knowledge and practice of individuals and organizations through scholarships, awards and other benefaction
Pioneer in providing Non-formal Engineering Education (popularly known as AMIE Exam) in India
Dissemination and updating of engineering and technological knowledge among its members, through Technical Activities
Inculcating and promoting amongst engineers and technologists a growing commitment to the social objectives of the profession

The Optical Society (OSA) is an international organization having student chapters in more than 300 Universities around the world. It was established in our university under the guidance of Dr. Hukum Singh mainly to introduce the students at undergraduate and graduate level to the world of Optics and Photonics. The activities under our Student chapter have always encouraged students to venture in the field of Research article writings and publishing in journals. Also, our members intend to publicize educational tasks for the spreading of knowledge in Optics by means of basic experiments, demonstrations and lectures by leading researchers and teachers. Most of the needed resources to accomplish these activities are provided by the OSA, such as educational posters and a portable kit for demonstrating Optics to students.

Objectives of “OSA”:

To promote the generation, application, and archiving of knowledge in optics and photonics.
Rendition of career guidance and financial assistance to students of the said sciences.
Exposure to Research International Conferences.
Continuing education of Members and other interested persons in the said sciences through lectures, workshops, product presentations, publications and expositions.
