In the rapid growth of the Technology, the most exciting hybrid model of wearable technology and Internet of Things. This dynamic fusion of technology makes human being much more comfortable, fashionable and healthier with themselves and environment through different gadgets. The NorthCap University situated in the Gurugram Haryana, always fostering the research and development in this fastest growing field.
The electronic devices that can be wear on the human body is known as Wearable devices such as smart clothing, smart watches, fitness trackers, smart glasses etc. The main goal of wearable devices is to provide the accurate real time data without compromising the user convenience. These devices are used to collect real time data about the health, daily activities, fitness many more. A recent study conducted by Grand View Research estimated that global market of wearable technology is expected to reach $104.39 billion by 2027, in this health and fitness section covers large segment of the market.
The integration of the IoT with wearable technology makes the enhancement to the next level. With the help of IoT, devices are connected with the internet that allow the devices to collect and share the data with the other devices. The fusion of these two technologies not only makes the devices to monitor and record the health parameters such as heart rate and other parameters but also communicate the data seamlessly to the other system or devices.
IoT enhances the wearable technology by using data synchronisation, Real Time monitoring and alerts, enhanced personalisation, etc.
The NorthCap University is doing notable research in the field of wearable technology and IoT. The university is developing many prototypes of wearable devices that can monitor various health parameters such as blood pressure, oxygen level, heart rate and provide real-time feedback to the end users. Through such devices users can get proactive and personalised health care. The NothCap university students also designed the IoT based Smart pill box organiser. The objective of this Pill Organiser prototype is to create a user-centric and technologically advanced solution that empowers patients to manage their medication with ease and precision. This prototype has many features such as Pill Organiser, Automated refill reminders, Personalized medication alerts, Health data tracking, Timely notifications for missed doses and dashboard for real-time tracking.
Final year students of The NorthCap University are doing research in developing smart textiles that embed digital components or special Fibers, which are helpful for the users to interact with environment.
The NorthCap University is implementing an IoT solution within its campus. The university have smart classrooms and connected facilities such as in Tinkering lab, Energy efficient smart environment with automation of appliances with the help of voice command through mobile app. In Tinkering Lab, display screen automatically shows information about temperature, humidity, date, time etc. and the lab utilisation of the current day with department wise. There is an automatic system made by the students that can provide a positive energy by playing soft music/Gayatri mantra at regular intervals.
The NorthCap University always play a crucial role in advancement of such technologies, driving innovation and shaping the future in terms of fashion and function that are seamless linked with each other.
