DOCTORAL PROGRAMMES
Applications are invited for admission to the following Ph.D. Programme as per UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedures for Awards of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2022 notified in the Gazette of India dated 07/11/2022.
Ph.D. Program
Pursuing a doctoral degree is a significant academic and professional undertaking, and the "best" field of study depends on your interests, career goals, and the areas where you excel. A Doctoral degree from NCU is seen as the most coveted for a student as it is recognized as the top Private University in North India. The candidate is expected to have the motivation and rigour to produce original research in the chosen thrust area of research and publish at least two research papers in peer-reviewed Scopus or Web of Science-indexed journals. The progress is evaluated every six months. At the end of the research work carried out, the scholar is required to successfully defend the Ph.D. thesis before the examiners, one of which will be from outside India.

- More then 115 scholars from NCU have been awarded a Ph.D. degree, and 230 are currently pursuing their Ph.D. at NCU.

- State-of-art infrastructure with high end research labs such as iMac lab, AR/VR lab, High-performance computing lab, Daikin Centre of Excellence, Mitsubishi Centre of Excellence, NavIC lab (in collaboration with ISRO), etc.
- Research Fellowship upto Rs. 35,000 p.m. for bright full-time Ph.D. scholars for 4 years and contingency grant of Rs 25,000 p.a. for all full-time Ph.D. scholars throughout the program.

The candidates who have (a) valid GATE/NET/JRF/SLET score and / or (b) working professionals (Persons employed in industry / Govt. /Autonomous bodies / public sector undertakings are considered as working professionals) are allowed to apply to the Ph.D. Program all throughout the year either online at https://apply.ncuindia.edu/phd or contact PhD cell directly.
PROGRAMME FEE STRUCTURE
- The annual tuition fee is Rs. 1,00,000/-; The fees can be paid in two equal instalments (Rs. 50,000/-) before the beginning of each semester. The annual tuition fee For Foreign Nationals, NRI and OCI is Rs. 1, 25,000/- or equivalent foreign exchange.
- A one-time sum of Rs. 10,000/- as caution money will be charged. The amount is interest free and will be refunded to the student at the time of withdrawal or at end of their Programme, whichever is applicable, after deduction of dues, if any.
- A one-time Alumni Association fee of Rs. 1,000/- and Youth Red Cross Fund of Rs 80/- for all programs is payable by all students.
ADMISSION PROCESS
Admission for Ph.D. Programme will be done twice every year, normally during June and December for pre-determined intake under each School/dept.
- 1. Fill the Online Application Form (apply online https://apply.ncuindia.edu/phdor offline by downloading the form from https://www.ncuindia.edu/phd/
- Pay the application fee i.e. INR 1100 /-
- Attach/upload educational documents, photo and signature.
- Entrance test on scheduled date and time followed by interview on the same day for the valid applications. Candidates who have a valid score in GATE, NET, JRF or SLET shall be exempted from the entrance test.
