On the occasion of “World Mental Health Day” on 10th October 2020, The School of Management and Liberal studies, The NorthCap University organized a Webinar on “MENTAL HEALTH AND QUALITY OF LIFE OF MARRIED WORKING WOMEN DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC IN INDIA. The Webinar was sponsored by the National Commission for Women, Government of India. Webinar Convener was Dr. Swaranjeet Arora, Associate Professor and Head of Department, The School of Management and Liberal studies, The NorthCap University. The organizing members form The School of Management and Liberal studies were Dr. Akshat Aditya Rao, Assistant Professor ; Dr. Preeti Chawla, Assistant Professor; Dr. Neha Kumar, Assistant Professor; Ms. Mansi Vinaik, Assistant Professor and Student Coordinators were Ms. Sanya Dudeja, Ms. Aishwarya MV and Ms. Mansi Yadav. The organizing team was supported by the technical team comprising of Mr. Deepak Satyarthi and Mr. Dinesh Kumar. The main aim of the Webinar was to deliberate on the quality of life of married working women, which is considerably affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India. The Webinar had six eminent speakers, whose contribution and understanding of the field is immense. The speakers were Dr. Janak Palta McGilligan (Padmshree award recipient), the President of Association of Women Entrepreneurs, Indore, prominent Social Worker, Social Scientist and founder of Barli Development Institute for Rural Women; Prof. Prem Vrat, Chairman, Pro-Chancellor, Professor of Eminence and Chief Mentor at The NorthCap University; Dr. Upinder Dhar, Vice Chancellor Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya, Indore; Dr. Aditya Prakash Bhardwaj, Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax - Income Tax Department, Faridabad; Dr. Sunita Reddy ,Associate Professor, Centre for Social Medicine and Community Health, Jawaharlal Nehru University, and Dr. Manisha Singhai, Associate Professor, Prestige Institute of Management & Research, Indore. The speakers elaborately discussed about the role of women in a society and particularly in their respective families, and the dual pressure being faced by women at home and work front during COVID 19 Pandemic. The speakers highlighted the importance of family, working as a unit and helping the female of the family; the importance of “me time” for a working woman and the rural-urban perspectives COVID 19 Pandemic for women. The speakers also narrated instances and cases from their own respective research, experience and observation with respect to mental health and quality of life of married working women during COVID-19 pandemic in India. The Webinar had large number of participants from different institutions and walks of life and was great success in terms of participation, knowledge and interaction.
