Technologies that make a Difference Webinar #16: PSO for Feature Selection in Steganalysis

IEEE student branch of The NorthCap University, in association with its Women in Engineering Affinity Group organized a webinar on PSO for Feature Selection in Steganalysis on 18th July 2020. The sapeaker for the webinar was Dr. Rita Chhikara. Dr. Rita Chikkara is Professor, department of CSE at The Northcap University. She has an excellent teaching experience of more than 20 years in various esteemed institutions. She is a recipient of ‘Teaching and Research Excellence National Award’. She is a member of ISTE, ACM, IEEE and IET. She is a reviewer for International Journal of Computer Science and Information Security (ESCI) and Editorial member of Journal Progress in Human Computer Interaction, Whioce Publishing, Sinagpore. Dr. Rita started the session by giving a brief introduction of how stenography works. Moving forward she told about Stenographic tools, applications of Stenography and science of Steganalysis along with its types. The session became more informative and instructive when Steganalysis problem solving was explained through ideal input of dataset i.e. using Machine Learning. Feature selection, its categories and why feature selection should be done was covered with deep insights and examples. Finally detailed explanation about feature selection with PSO (Particle Swarm Optimisation) and step-wise evaluation of PSO was delivered.

The webinar ended with a Q/A session where Dr. Rita Chhikara answered the attendee’s doubts by stating real life examples and her indepth knowledge of the topic. The Webinar was streamed on IEEE NCU’s YouTube Channel.
