Daikin Centre of Excellence

Daikin Airconditioning India Pvt Ltd (DAIPL), a 100 percent subsidiary of Daikin Industries Ltd, Japan, has partnered with the Dept of Mechanical Engineering, The NorthCap University, to set up its 16^th Centre of Excellence.

The ‘Daikin Centre of Excellence’ (CoE) was inaugurated at the University on 12 Nov 2018 by Mr Kanwal Jeet Jawa, CEO & MD, Daikin India in the presence of Mr KD Virmani, Sr Vice-President and Mr APS Gandhi, GM, Training & Development and Customer Service, Daikin India; Prof. Prem Vrat, Pro-Chancellor; Prof HB Raghavendra, VC; Prof. Pramod Bhatia, Head, Dept of ME, NCU, and other dignitaries.

While inaugurating the Centre, Mr Jawa said, “Nation Building is through Skill Building”. The biggest barrier to the growth of a nation is getting skilled people who can spearhead the socio-economic development of the nation. The CoE acts as a common facility and is aimed at nurturing young minds and harnessing them for the HVAC Industry. The curriculum is focused towards enhancing industry-readiness of budding technocrats. Mr Jawa further extended his support towards funding of research projects, event sponsorships, and offering placement opportunities to students in Daikin or its channel partners.

The Centre showcases Daikin’s futuristic products and major products in HVAC along with industry tool kits. It’ll ensure hands-on practical exposure for students and help them acquire the new technologies used in the air-conditioning industry including the VRV technology, R-32 refrigerant and inverter technology. Experts from DAIPL will impart training to the faculty and students on the advanced technologies in Heating Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) System using air-conditioning units supplied by DAIPL.

The Inauguration Event was coordinated by Mr Jag Parvesh Dahiya, Dr Amit Arora and technical staff of Dept of ME.
