School of Law at NCU organised the IInd International Conference on Law and Technology: Moving towards the Digital Era in collaboration with Centre for Cyber Laws, NLU Delhi, and Faculty of Law, UDF Centro Universitário, Brazil.
Day 2 of the Conference was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Justice Manmeet Preetam Singh Arora, Judge, High Court of Delhi as the Chief Guest, Dr. Pavan Duggal, Advocate, Supreme Court of India and Chairman, International Commission on Cyber Security Law as Guest of Honour, Mr. Akshay Makhija, Vice Chancellor, NCU, Prof. Nupur Prakash, Professor, School of Law, Prof. Manjula Batra and Head SOL, Prof. Dr. Archana Sarma.
The conference aimed to initiate a discussion on critical areas of relevance in regards to digital technology complimenting the legal machinery. Hon’ble Justice Manmeet Preetam Singh Arora emphasised the importance of human touch in advocacy and stressed that students are the future of justice dispensing machinery as lawyers and judges can never be replaced by Artificial Intelligence.
The conference witnessed overwhelming participation from students, scholars, academicians and professionals across the globe in both physical as well as virtual mode. Technical Session I on Law & Technology was chaired by Dr. Aparajita Bhatt (Director, Centre for Cyber Laws, NLU Delhi), Technical Session II Social media and Human Rights: Regulatory Challenges was chaired by Dr. deepa kansra (Assistant Professor, Human Rights Studies Programe, School of International Studies, JNU), Technical session III on Interface Between Privacy and Human Rights was chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Anupama Goel (Professor of Law, NLU Delhi), Technical session IV on Contemporary Issues in Corporate Law Resource Person was chaired by Dr. Monica Chaudhary, Assistant Professor (Senior Scale, Law Centre II, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi) and Technical session V on Interface between Digitalisation and Criminal law was chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Vageshwari Deswal, Professor, Faculty of Law, Delhi University.
